AS A YOUNG FATHER I had some footage of my one-year-old son walking around the apartment getting into things that were of interest to him. This was in late 2001. I was working as a "Systems Specialist," defined as first level tech support, and had some decent digital video equipment at my disposal ... so in my experiments, I quickly discovered that I could easily write a web-based program that ran from a CD-ROM, allowing family and friends to view the footage of my toddler. However, as one can imagine, it can be fairly boring to see someone else's kid walk around someone else's apartment. So I added some background music, and voila, i had the first of a new family tradition that has been the centerpiece of many a family discussion since its inception.

Since then, I have completed many other family videos that have gained widespread popularity, particularly for those that live far away. I enjoy the opportunity to leave the mundane world of computer tech support and do something creative, which also makes it very rewarding.

I began to place the videos on DVD in 2004, allowing those without computer skills to also view the finished products, which have begun to appear very professional. In fact, with my recent promotion to Network Administrator, my job description now includes video/DVD production and streaming media services for the american urological association.

Most recently, I have added 3D modeling and animation to my tool set. You will see some of my first attempts in a few of the video files listed on this site.
